"The World Belongs to Those who Read"

Nothing makes me happier than seeing children with a book in their hands. A portable adventure ready to spark their imagination. Unfortunately with the new age of electronic gadgets this is something I see so much less of. I have decided to blog about ways to ignite a child's desire to want to read. First things first, be a reader yourself. Carry books with you, keep them in the car and spend time in book stores. A child who grows up with books around them will be a reader. Read to them every day. Take them to the libraries and enroll them in reading programs. Play games as you read. For example, buy 2 copies or borrow from your local library the exact same book and read it together. Talk about it and encourage fun with reading. I am a mother of 2 grown children and all of these tips made them both readers. Let's all put books back in our children's hands. One word at a time...
